I also have left the door wide open for anyone with a philosophical commitment to free and open-source software. I am hugely in favor of free products which are robust and reliable, such as Gimp, Inkscape, and Blender. Image and texture-atlas optimization and compression is something I spend a LOT of time considering. When you compare usability, feature-set, reliability, and scope, you will not come up with anything that has half of what TexturePacker has, unless you write it yourself. You can write your own, but unless you already know you can (in which case you'd have already considered it against other options), that won't save you any time or money in the long run.
